nofimaNofima, the Norwegian Institute of Food, Fishery and Aquaculture, is a business-oriented research group working for the aquaculture, fisheries and food industry. Established in 2008, the main office is in Tromsø Norway and there are over 400 employees. Nofima has four business areas: Marine, Food, Ingredients and Market.

Nofima has been a member of the SAFE consortium since 2009.

Nofima is Europe’s largest institute for applied research within the fields of fisheries, aquaculture and food and has an annual turnover of about NOK 500 million. Nofima carries out internationally recognised research and develops solutions that provide a competitive edge throughout the value chain.

The head office is located in Tromsø, and the research divisions are located in Averøy, Bergen, Sunndalsøra, Stavanger, Tromsø and Ås.
