European Association for Food Safety

The scientific subgroups

All full members of the consortium have the opportunity to appoint scientists to the three scientific subgroups (microbiology, toxicology and technology & hygiene) of the consortium. Associated members (research groups) may appoint a scientist to the subgroup in their scientific activity area. These subgroups together form the ‘Scientific Board’ according to the Articles of Association, i.e. the body that is formally responsible for the scientific level and quality of the consortium's work.

It is within this responsibility that they also have to approve the admission of new member institutes to the consortium, on the basis of their publications on food safety related scientific issues in internationally refereed scientific journals.

More information on the SAFE Scientific Subgroups coming soon...
